Paradise

October 5, 2011

I thought that I was in Paradise when I first set foot in Rancho Santa Fe.  Many factors, (The Historic Village,Rancho Santa Fe School,Riding Trails etc), help make RSF one of the Nations most sought after communities.

Today I will highlight the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club.Carved out of the undulating terrain of an Eucalyptus Forest the course opened in June 1929.The Par 72, 7073 yd. 18 Hole is surrounded by Riding Trails & Magnificent Estates.

It is the original site of the “Crosby Clambake” the predecessor of the AT&T Pebble Beach Tournament & is now ranked in the Top 20 courses in California

The Club was host to the USGA National Junior Championship in 2006.

Membership is only available to Rancho Santa Fe Covenant property owners.

There are several more Championship Golf Courses  in the neighborhood which I aim to highlight in the coming weeks.

Our family moved here specifically for this School district. The School has turned out to be everything & then some we had hoped for in an education. Our four boys all attended the school from K through 8th Grade. The small class size (20) is similar to a Private School which perfectly prepared our boys for the rigors of Honors/AP Classes at Torrey Pines High School.

Great Teachers, Staff, Athelitics,Extra Curricular Activities & interesting Classes made for an incredible journey & learning experience for our Boys.

Arriving in San Diego in 1988 accompanied by my beautiful wife Helen & our one year old son Barry we tasted the opulent lifestyle of La Jolla while “House Sitting” the Gagosian Mansion overlooking Blacks Beach.

We now reside in Rancho Santa Fe together with our Four Sons & aging dog Sharkey.
